Hi Phoebe

"Phoebe', our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy is almost 4 months old. She is growing so fast and learning so many new things. She now has gotten her official, registered name "Llandian Wings of Love". We love her more each day.

Your Corgi is adorable. My doctor just called me yesterday to ask if I know of any Corgi breeders. (I am a small animal veterinarian). Unfortunately, I don't and just happened to come across your site today. Did you get your puppy from a breeder and, if so, are they in the Northeast? We live in PA.
Thanks so much for your help. Ann Pettigrew, York, PA

We got Phoebe from a good Pembroke Welsh Corgi breeder in the Northeast. A good breeder will assure you a healthy puppy and match you with a puppy of the right temperment that fits with your family. Our Corgi even came trained to come when she is called and happily sleep in her crate.
You can find a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (or other dog breed) breeder by going to the American Kennel Club website,
http://www.akc.org/
then to the Breeders/breeder referral link
http://www.akc.org/breederinfo/breeder_search.cfm
then look up your breed and go to the national website for your breed. From there you will find a breeder in your area.
The national website for Pempbroke Welsh Corgis and their regional clubs is
http://www.pembrokecorgi.org/aclubs.html
The regional clubs will direct your to a breeder close to you.

Your Corgi is a cutie! When I was a kid, my aunt and uncle in west Texas raised Pembrokes (excellent for herding goats and chickens), and the patriarch of their clan was a majestic dog whose official name was Wayfarer. Of course, none of the young nephews and nieces could pronounce Wayfarer, so we always called him 'Wafer,' much to my aunt's dismay.

My family got the pick of the litter one summer, and got a beautiful female that we named Daisy for her coloring and also in honor of my great-aunt. Not sure if Aunt Daisy truly felt honored, but she was a good sport about having a dog named after her! Anyway, our Daisy lived a long and happy 16 years and is still the smartest dog I've ever known. Here's hoping that Phoebe is to your family what Daisy was to mine.

John,
Thanks for wishes and the Corgi story. Amazingly, the beloved Corgi we had before Phoebe was named Daisy, just like your Corgi!

Daisy died this past summer and Phoebe is making our hearts happy now.
